Bieber explained that the track would surprise people in different ways, since it is a musical departure from his previous material. A snippet of "Boyfriend" was previewed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 1, 2012. The song was announced as a single on the same day, and was released on March 26, 2012. The cover art was released on March 19, 2012.

Zendaya & Bella Thorne: Something to Dance for/TTYLXOX Mash-Up


"Something to Dance For/TTYLXOX Mash-Up" (shortened as Something to Dance For & TTYLXOX) is a mash-up single from the soundtrack Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance. It was performed by Zendaya and Bella Thorne and written by Jeannie Lurie, Aris Archontis and Chen Neeman. The song was released on March 9, 2012. It didn't actually premiere as the single on the soundtrack, but was released on Radio Disney's Planet Premiere on March 23, 2012, and on iTunes on March 11, 2012.

"Climax" is a song by American recording artist Usher, released on February 22, 2012, on RCA Records. It was released as the lead single for his 2012 studio album Looking for Myself. It was written by Usher, Ariel Rechtshaid, Redd Stylez, and Diplo, who also produced the song. Usher and Diplo worked on the song for two months as part of their collaboration for the former's album. The song is a quiet storm slow jam with electronic influences and lyrics about the turning point of a relationship.

The song samples "Push the Feeling On" by Nightcrawlers as well as "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang. It was released to both iTunes and mainstream radio on June 16, 2009. It has peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it his second top 10 hit along with "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)".

Justin Bieber ft. Jaden Smith : Never Say Never


"Never Say Never" is a song by Canadian recording artist Justin Bieber. The song serves as the theme song for The Karate Kid (2010), and features rap interludes from the film's star, Jaden Smith. It was originally a risque demo with sexual lyrics performed by American singer Travis Garland, it was written and produced by The Messengers, and Omarr Rambert. However, for unknown reasons, Bieber was tapped to record the song for the film. He re-wrote the song with The Messengers, Rambert, Smith, and his vocal producer Kuk Harrell, to feature inspirational lyrics to foil the film's theme. The song contains R&B and pop elements while merging hip-hop. The song was released for digital download in the United States on June 8, 2010. The song was later included as a track on the remix album My Worlds Acoustic (2010). Also, On December 16, 2010, it was reported that the song had made the shortlist for the 83rd Academy Awards for Best Original Song. To promote Bieber's 3D concert film of the same name, the song was released as the lead single from Bieber's second remix album, Never Say Never – The Remixes.

" She Doesn't Mind" is the second single from the Jamaican recording artist Sean Paul's fifth studio album Tomahawk Technique. It was written by Sean Paul, Shellback and Benny Blanco and was produced by Shellback and Benny Blanco. It was released on the September 29, 2011 on NRJ and Skyrock (French Radios), and to iTunes on October 31. and will be released to U.S. mainstream radio on January 24, 2012. Like the predecessor, "Got 2 Luv U" which featured American singer Alexis Jordan, it debuted at number-one in Switzerland.

"Dance Again" is a song  by American recording artist Jennifer Lopez, featuring American rapper Pitbull. It was released April 2, 2012 by Epic Records. "Dance Again" is an uptempo dance-pop song, written by AJ Junior, The Chef, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, and RedOne, who also produced the song. It marks the third time that Lopez and Pitbull collaborated on a song; the previous songs being the promotional single "Fresh Out the Oven" (2009) and the single "On The Floor" (2011). Lopez is unsure whether or not the song is a single from her upcoming greatest hits album, or a new studio album.

Taio Cruz ft. Ludacris: Break Your Heart


"Break Your Heart" is a song by English singer - songwriter Taio Cruz. The song serves as the lead single from his second studio album Rokstarr. It was written by Cruz and Fraser T. Smith and produced by Smith. It was first released in the UK on 20 September 2009, followed by a release in the United States and other markets on 2 February 2010. The official remix version features American rapper Ludacris; that version was the single  released in North American countries. The song, originally penned Cherly Cole, is an uptempo R&B song with electro  and dance-pop elements, accompanied by Cruz's auto-tuned vocals. The song is lyrically warning to someone about being a heartbreaker.

Jason Derulo: Breathing


" Breathing" is a song by American recording artist Jason Derulo, from his second studio album Future History (2011). It was written by Derulo, Jacob Luttrel, Lauren Christy, Julian Bunetta, Krassimir Tsvetano Kurkchiyski, Shope Trad and Folksong Thrace, while production of the song was helmed by DJ Frank E. "Breathing" was initially released as one of four promotional singles for the album in September 2011. It was later released as the third single from Future History in Australia, Germany and the United States, while " Fight For You" served as the third single in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Musically, " Breathing" is an eurodance song with electro, R&B and house music influences. It consists of " tribal vocal chorales" in the background, and  samples from "Pilentze Pee", sung by the Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir. Derulo stated that the lyrical inspiration for "Breathing" came from the death of his cousin. The song was well received by most music critics, who praised its musical production. "Breathing" was a top 10 hit in Australia  and Bulgaria, and reached the top 20 in Australia and Ireleand. A music video was directed by Colin Tilley, and features Derulo  in an abandoned warehouse, as well as the other scenes of him shirtless in a blue tinted room.

Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer: Give Me Everything (Tonight)


"Give Me Everything" is a song by American rapper Pitbull, released on March 18, 2011 as the second single from his sixth studio album, Planet Pit (2011). It was written by Matt Howard, American singer-songwriter Ne-Yo, Dutch producer and DJ Afrojack. Ne-Yo & Nayer feature on the song, while Afrojack produce the song. It combines hip hop, pop, and "Broadway-style theatrically". In the United States, "Give Me Everything" became Pitbull's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. It also became Pitbull's first number one single in the United Kingdom as the main artist. The song further peaked at number one in Belgium, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United States and within the top-five in twelve countries. Worldwide, it was the seventh best selling digital single of 2011 with sales of 8.2 million copies.

"Jello" is a song by Asian-American  hip hop group Far East Movement, released in the United States on the 1 November, 2011 as the lead single from their  upcoming forth studio album Dirty Bass. The song features rapper Rye Rye. It was written  by Jonathan  Yip, Jeremy Reeves, Ray Romulus, Nathan Walker, James, Roh, Kevin Nishimura, Virman Coquia, Jae Choung and was produced by the Stereotypes.

"Glad You Came" is a song by British-Irish boy band The Wanted from their second studio album, Battleground. It was released as the album's second single on 10 July 2011. In the United States it was released as the first single in January 2012 and has so far peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100. The dance-pop song was written by Steve Mac, Wayne Hector and Ed Drewett, it was produced by Steve Mac. It debuted at number one in Ireland & the United Kingdom.

"Roll Up" is a song by American rapper Wiz Khalifa. It was released as the second single from his debut studio album, Rolling Papers; having written by Wiz Khalifa, and StarGate. The video was shot in Venice, Los Angeles at Venice Beach and it features a cameo by the American singer Cassie. The song debuted at number forty-eight on the Billboard Hot 100, and has currently peaked at number thirteen, becoming Khalifa's fourth-highest charting single behind "Black & Yellow", "No Sleep", and " Young, Wild, & Free". It has now sold over 1,000, 000 digital copies is the US alone.
